STA HLTV How-to-Guide Version 1.1 Requirements - The latest HL TFC Patch What is HLTV? HLTV is a proxy used to broadcast matches. Clients then connect to the proxy and watch the game. Demos can also be taken and are required to be :) ***** Setting up HLTV ***** - Nothing to install! - A player or server admin can run this (would reccomend server admin) 1) First download the hltv.cfg from the STA website and place it into your Half-life directory OR where you have installed HLTV. (ie. C:\Sierra\Half-life) Note - Your Half-life directory is not your tfc directory. 2) Now to run hltv, you will simply double-click on hltv.exe. To connect to a server, type "serverpassword XXX" where XXX is the password to the server. Then type "connect xx.xxx.xx.xxx" where the x's are the ip of the match server. 3) Exec the stahltv.cfg after it's done running by typing "exec stahltv.cfg" 4) To begin a demo type "record demoname", where demoname is the name of the demo, in the HLTV console. The program will record successive demos as the map changes and will increment the name of each, so you don't have to keep typing "record demoname." - if you are not running hltv or do not have access to it you can use rcon to record a demo (read the read me on commands to use)
